As demands in the marketplace have evolved and as the adoption of new technologies has changed, presenting notification and reminders to users in a multi-modal fashion is a requirement. A recipient may not be in front of their email or have access to their fax machine. They may be in a meeting and cannot check their voice messages. To deliver an effective communication you need multiple ways to deliver that notification, escalating procedures for sending the reminder whenever a recipient cannot be reached, and opt-in/-out opportunity for the recipient.
Some users want to be notified via traditional methods such as fax and voice. Others want a text-to-speech (TTS) or a voice recorded message. Some want a combination of TTS and voice recording. Many want text messaging on their mobile device, email or a combination of all the above.
In our fast paced society, we need to be able to effectively alert our customers, colleagues, or employees of changes that are happening with flight schedules, package shipments, bank balances, appointment reminders, meetings and more. Not all users want to receive these reminders and many want different delivery and escalation procedures to be used based on the message type.
At PGi we have focused on developing a Communications Operating System that is truly multi-modal and on–demand. It enables the travel industry to develop their own applications leveraging the PGiCOS modes of communications. These applications deliver schedule change notifications to pilots. The PGiCOS allows physicians to remind their patients of their upcoming appointments and it allows credit card holders to be notified when their balances are over-due.
Customers can leverage existing applications on the PGiCOS (such as PGi MyPortal or PGi Irgent) or build their own using PGIConnect API. This API allows customers and third party developers to create their own application or portal which uses multiple modes of communications to enhance their application.
Delivering communication technologies the way the recipient wants to receive them improves the overall communication and builds loyalty with the end recipient by providing a more efficient and effective experience.
Creating technology for technology’s sake is not a solution. Empowering end users to receive their notifications as they desire is here today.
